What is Fat 2 Fit FC? Fat 2 Fit FC is a friendly football-based fitness group designed to help men lose weight, improve fitness, and boost mental health in a supportive, no-pressure environment.
Who can join? Our sessions are aimed at men with a BMI of 27+ who are looking to improve their health through football. All abilities are welcome — whether you’ve not played in years or never played before.
Do I need to be good at football? Not at all! The sessions are focused on participation, fitness, and enjoyment. It’s all about getting moving and supporting each other.
How much does it cost? Membership is £20 per month, and we currently offer your 3rd month free when you sign up for your first two months.
Can I try it before committing? Yes! Your first session is completely free, so you can come along and see what it’s all about before signing up.
When and where are sessions held? Sessions take place on Friday evenings from 7:30pm at Truro College (The Burgerbeu).
What should I bring? Just bring: Football boots or astro trainers Comfortable sportswear Water Shin pads We’ll take care of the rest.
Is it competitive? There is a fun, competitive element, but the main focus is on fitness, weight loss, and enjoyment rather than serious competition.
How does the weight loss side work? Players are weighed weekly, and weight loss contributes to the team’s overall performance through bonus points. It’s a great way to stay motivated and accountable.
What if I’m nervous about joining? That’s completely normal — and you won’t be alone. Everyone starts somewhere, and we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, supportive group.
Do I have to attend every week? We encourage regular attendance to get the most benefit, but we understand life gets busy. Just come along when you can.
Is there a community outside of sessions? Yes — we have a WhatsApp group where players can stay connected, support each other, and keep up to date with sessions and events. We also organise regular social events.
